On the afternoon of March 30, Zhao Jie, Secretary of the General Party Branch of the School of Civil and Transportation Engineering, led a team to Xinzheng International Airport to welcome the first batch of 28 South African students majoring in architectural engineering technology. After arriving at YRCTI, the class teacher Hu Pan and the volunteers of the Xing Erpeng volunteer service team led 28 international students to register in the international student apartment and introduced them the dining arrangement and solved other problems, helping 28 international students better adapt to the campus life in YRCTI.

Previously, the School of Civil and Transportation Engineering held a welcome meeting of South African Class to arrange the orientation and teaching work. Volunteers of the Xing Erpeng Volunteer Service Team helped incoming South African international students to receive bedding, pillows, washbasins and other daily necessities and clean the dormitory for the international students.

The China & South Africa Technical and Vocational Education Cooperation Alliance was officially established in January 2018. YRCTI was a founding member of the Alliance. Under the framework of the Alliance, the Architectural Technology Training Agency of the South African Department of Basic Education will successively send 49 South African students to YRCTI for a one-year professional study of construction engineering technology.
