On the morning of May 19, the 2020 Video Conference on Provincial Education and Foreign Affairs was held. Zheng Bangshan, Secretary and Director of the Party Committee of Henan Provincial Department of Education attended the meeting. Diao Yuhua, Deputy Director of Henan Provincial Department of Education presided over the meeting. President Zhu Yuhua, Deputy Presidents Jiao Aiping and Jian Haoran, as well as leaders of the Liaison and Cooperation Department and other teaching units attended the meeting in the studio of the No.4 Training Hall. The meeting reviewed the foreign-related education work of Henan province in recent years and generated a scientific plan of relevant future tasks.

  Zhu Yuhua made a speech under the title of Strengthening Open Exchange and Exploring New Approaches to International Education, introducing YRCTI’s experience in actively following up the “Belt and Road” Initiative to expand open education and cultivate international technical talents, as well as measures to carry out epidemic prevention and control work for overseas students. Firstly, YRCTI follows the hydropower enterprises to “Go Global”, and jointly builds overseas Dayu School through school-enterprise cooperation, so as to cultivate talents of water conservancy and hydropower technology urgently needed by countries along the “Belt and Road” Initiative. Secondly, YRCTI gives full play to advantageous specialties, and had trained more than 480 international students of 31 countries through school-enterprise cooperation. Thirdly, YRCTI makes use of the high-quality foreign educational resources to jointly launched Chinese-foreign cooperative education projects with Russian and American colleges and universities, which are to cultivate international skilled people in engineering. Fourthly, relying on talents and technological advantages, YRCTI explores and expands the international market of technical services. Fifthly, YRCTI carries out exchanges and mutual learning of teachers and students through multiple channels and in various forms on international education platforms. For the prevention and control of the epidemic among international students, YRCTI has set up specialized classes, established a five-level epidemic prevention and control system, strengthened the publicity of epidemic prevention and control, and provided online teaching, thus effectively guaranteeing the health and safety of international students.

  In the next step, Zhu Yuhua proposed to focus on building the brand of “1+N+M” distributed Dayu Schools in China and abroad, speeding up the export of YRCTI's standards of vocational education, promoting the services for overseas students to study in China in various forms, and building up the teaching strength for the implementation of internationalization. YRCTI will continue to expand and deepen international exchanges and cooperation, enhance the international competitiveness and influence, and build into a “high-level higher vocational college with high-level disciplines” as well as world-class educational competitiveness, Chinese characteristics, and power to boost development.
