On July 30, Xu Yan, Secretary of Party Committee of YRCTI led a group of 6 people, including heads of Liaison and Cooperation Department, School of Water Conservancy and Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering and other departments and relevant personnel, to visit University of Zambia. The two sides signed a framework cooperation agreement and conducted in-depth discussions on educational cooperation.

Professor Luke Mumba, Vice President of University of Zambia, extended a sincere welcome to Xu Yan and his delegation. He introduced the history, current situation and future development planning of University of Zambia, and reviewed the communication between the two universities. He said that the two universities have something in common in the fields of water conservancy, construction and machinery, and hoped that the signing of the agreement will further promote substantive cooperation between the two universities in the above-mentioned fields.

Xu Yan briefly introduced the development history and achievements of YRCTI in recent years, and reviewed the educational exchange and cooperation between YRCTI and African countries, represented by Zambia Dayu School. He hoped that the two universities could carry forward the "the TAZARA spirit" of mutual respect, tenacious struggle and selfless dedication which is also the guiding principle of the bilateral contact between the two countries, to reach cooperation, strengthen communication, and solidly promote the work according to the agreement, so as to write a new chapter for China-Zambia cooperation.

Subsequently, the two sides signed a framework cooperation agreement and conducted in-depth discussions on teacher-student exchanges, scientific research cooperation, and local technical personnel training.

University of Zambia, founded in 1965, is located in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. It is a comprehensive university with the longest history in Zambia. It has two campuses, 10 schools and 50 departments, of which engineering, agriculture, mining and other related majors enjoy a high reputation in Africa.
